Job summary

Citi is seeking a Lead AI Engineer to drive design, development, and delivery of advanced AI-powered applications within a global technology team. You will shape technical direction, mentor engineers, and build intelligent systems that scale data and automation across Citi.

Responsibilities include architecting AI applications, leading RAG pipelines, and partnering with stakeholders to deliver robust solutions while enforcing coding standards and security controls.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of software or application development experience with a track record delivering complex projects.
• Hands-on Python development for data ingestion, ETL, and applications.
• Experience building RAG pipelines and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Advanced SQL skills for large-scale data queries.
• Strong understanding of Transformer architectures in production AI.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and communicate clearly.
• Ability to translate requirements into robust technical implementations.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop AI-driven applications and data pipelines in Python.
• Lead design and implementation of RAG systems and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Define coding standards, testing practices, and development processes.
• Assess complex challenges and deliver innovative AI solutions.
• Coach mid-level engineers and analysts to support growth and delivery.
• Identify and manage technical risks, ensuring security and compliance.
