ALTEN is seeking a Senior Stress Engineer to support an innovative aerospace programme in Bristol. You will analyse aircraft structural components using static methods and Finite Element Models (FEM/FEA).

Collaboration with Design, Manufacturing, Testing and Certification teams ensures designs meet performance and airworthiness standards. The role requires hands-on experience with aerospace stress analysis, FEA tools and experience with metallic/composite structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform static structural and stress analysis across aircraft structures.
• Build and assess Finite Element Models (FEM/FEA).
• Analyse flight, ground and pressure loads.
• Prepare stress reports and substantiation documentation.
• Assess structural margins and propose engineering solutions.
• Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Engineers.
• Support structural testing activities and data interpretation.
• Contribute to engineering drawings and change documentation.
• Support certification activities and compliance with airworthiness requirements.
