Job summary

Omega in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to lead the development of aerospace products from concept through to flight qualification, applying rigorous engineering across the product lifecycle.

You will translate customer requirements into robust solutions, coordinate technical activities and engineering deliverables, and mentor developing engineers within a high‑tech, modern facility.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related Engineering discipline.
• Able to lead technical activities across the product development lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of verification, validation and qualification testing.
• Experience with hydraulic or electrohydraulic systems (Desirable).
• Experience using Siemens NX or similar CAD software.
• Experience using analysis tools such as Mathcad, CFD, and FEA.
• Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Technical development of products from concept through to flight qualification.
• Translating customer requirements into robust engineering solutions.
• Supporting the design and development of high-performance aerospace components.
• Coordinating technical activities and engineering deliverables.
• Leading technical investigations and problem-solving activities.
• Coordinating development and qualification testing.
• Working with cross functional engineering departments to deliver success.
• Providing technical guidance and mentorship to developing engineers.
