Job summary

Eaton Wimborne is seeking a Senior Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Design Engineering team. You will develop mechanical and electro‑mechanical designs, model subsystems in 3D CAD, and produce production drawings for a wide range of aerospace products.

The role covers the full product lifecycle from bids to in‑service support, requiring EWIS, EMC, IPC standards knowledge, and experience with CAD tools and PLM systems. You will guide design integrity and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Produce concept designs to meet customer requirements within timescales and budgets.
• Perform stress, performance and tolerancing calculations for designs.
• Experience in aerospace product design and development environments.

Responsibilities

• Produce concept designs for new products or modifications to meet customer requirements.
• Complete stress, performance and tolerancing calculations in support of the designs.
• Present design solutions to peers and customers.
• Support supply chain by addressing supplier technical inquiries during manufacture.
• Manage changes and drawings through change review boards.
• Provide status updates in design and project meetings.
• Ensure drawings comply with Eaton design and configuration control processes.
• Mentor junior design engineers and contribute to continuous improvement.
