Eaton Wimborne is seeking a Senior Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Design Engineering team. You will develop mechanical and electro‑mechanical designs, model subsystems in 3D CAD, and produce production drawings for a wide range of aerospace products.
The role covers the full product lifecycle from bids to in‑service support, requiring EWIS, EMC, IPC standards knowledge, and experience with CAD tools and PLM systems. You will guide design integrity and mentor junior engineers.

The Senior Electro‑Mechanical Design Engineer will work within the Design Engineering team at EATON Wimborne. The Design Engineering team are responsible for the development of mechanical and electro‑mechanical designs and production of drawings across all product lines at MSD Wimborne. Design Engineers are allocated to projects as required and the role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of products.
The role encompasses all aspects of the product lifecycle from support to bids, development of system requirements, concept design through to issue of production standard drawings. The Senior Electro‑Mechanical Design Engineer will also provide support to production concessions and in‑service issues where applicable.
The candidate will require experience in electro‑mechanical assembly enclosure design, loom/wiring harness design and generation of PCB assembly drawings. The candidate should be fully capable of using 3D CAD to model sub‑systems, equipment (including component parts) and looms/wiring harnesses, whilst working within large, complex models. The candidate should have experience with EWIS requirements to ensure compliance while routing the looms/wiring harnesses. Previous experience in consideration of EMC, and knowledge of IPC manufacturing standards.
The successful applicant will be in contact with US ITAR controlled technology, goods, and information. As a condition of employment, employees with access to US ITAR controlled technology and goods may be required to undergo an additional screening process as part of the recruitment process.
