Job summary

Safran Seats in Cwmbran, UK seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer responsible for leading the electrical design team within the aerospace sector. Based in South Wales, you will manage platform teams, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and coordinate with OEMs to certify electrical systems.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent with HNC/HND), strong Catia/PLM and 3D CAD skills, and the ability to work with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (HNC/HND with apprenticeship)
• Experience with Catia and PLM
• Experience with 3D CAD/AutoCAD electrical software
• Understanding of tolerances and manufacturing processes, OEM installation requirements
• Ability to read design drawings and specifications

Responsibilities

• Manage electrical engineering platform teams
• Ensure design standards and performance are met
• Supervise and coordinate design activities
• Manage attendance and holidays for the engineering team
• Recruitment support for team members
• Conduct KPI reviews and ensure yearly targets
• Deliver electrical systems programs per schedules and budgets
• Coordinate with EASA, FAA, Boeing and Airbus for certification
• Check/approve electrical drawings and documents for compliance
• Update electrical standards and process documentation
• Liaise with equipment manufacturers on installation specs
• Report status of programmes to senior management
• Communicate with customers, suppliers & OEMs daily
• Participate in Design Reviews for New Product Introduction
• Apply appropriate materials and processes to each design element
• Hold full UK Driving Licence and be willing to travel
