Job summary

Safran Landing Systems in Gloucester seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead CNC programming for MillTurn, 5-axis machining and turning, driving process development and industrialisation on high‑quality aerospace components.

You will create and validate CAD/CAM programs using CATIA, HyperMILL and Vericut, collaborate with production, quality and engineering teams, and mentor colleagues while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in CNC programming for MillTurn, 5-axis machining and turning.
• Proficiency with CATIA, HyperMILL and Vericut.
• Strong knowledge of machining, tooling and process development.
• Experience solving complex manufacturing challenges.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and tolerancing.
• Continuous improvement mindset.
• Engineering qualifications or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise CNC programs for MillTurn, 5-axis machining, and turning.
• Support machining process development, tooling, and process improvements.
• Prove out and troubleshoot CNC programs on the shop floor.
• Investigate manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
• Drive improvements in quality, productivity, cost, and delivery.
• Support new product introduction and industrialisation activities.
• Create and validate CAD/CAM programs using CATIA, HyperMILL, and Vericut.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams.
• Provide technical support and mentoring to colleagues.
• Maintain engineering documentation and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
