Job summary

Walsall Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the Adult Social Care East Locality Team. The role supports the Team Manager, supervises staff, and drives practice improvement aligned with legislation and Social Work England standards.

The successful candidate will hold AMHP, BIA or Practice Educator qualifications and lead reflective supervision, mentoring and development for a small team, with opportunities for continued professional growth within the council.

Qualifications

• Qualified as AMHP, BIA or Practice Educator with experience supervising staff.
• Ability to support Team Manager and deliver day-to-day oversight.
• Commitment to professional development and reflective supervision.
• Knowledge of legislation, council policies and Social Work England standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver strengths-based assessments.
• Support planning and reviews under the Care Act 2014.
• Conduct risk assessments.
• Carry out mental capacity assessments.
• Lead adult safeguarding enquiries.
• Provide guidance and development within the team.
