Job summary

City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to lead and develop high-quality social work practice across the Families Directorate. The role involves mentoring, coaching and guiding frontline social workers, while collaborating with Team Managers and other senior colleagues to embed best practices in assessment, safeguarding and intervention.

The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement, support professional development, and influence practice

Qualifications

• A recognised Social Work qualification.
• Registration with Social Work England.
• Substantial post-qualification experience within Children's Services.

Responsibilities

• Provide mentoring, coaching and reflective supervision opportunities to social workers, including those completing ASYE and CPD programmes.
• Model and promote exceptional social work practice across Children's Services.
• Support practitioners in developing skills in assessment, analysis, planning, decision-making, direct work with children and risk management.
• Lead reflective practice sessions, workshops and training programmes to support continuous professional development.
• Act as a specialist consultant on evidence-informed social work practice, legislation, policy and research developments.
• Support quality assurance processes to improve the quality and impact of social work interventions.
