Job summary

Markel in the UK is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to deliver actuarial insight across reserving, pricing and portfolio management, working with senior stakeholders in a visible role. The team supports the UK business with ownership of quarterly reserving and pricing initiatives across Professional Indemnity, Property, Social Care and Legal Expenses lines.

You will join a team of 33 actuaries servicing Markel's International organisation, primarily based in London but flexible across remote

Qualifications

• 5+ years actuarial experience in pricing and reserving.
• Experience engaging with senior underwriters and presenting analyses.
• Strong ability to influence decision-making with actuarial insights.
• Experience in business planning and parameterising underwriting and reserve risk.

Responsibilities

• Provide actuarial input across reserving, pricing and portfolio management.
• Own quarterly reserving processes and support pricing initiatives.
• Collaborate with UK underwriting and Finance to inform decisions.
• Support wider Markel International Actuarial team.
