Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Clerk to join the Accounts Payable Team. You will manage day-to-day ledger activities, process invoices, match orders to invoices, and resolve supplier queries with attention to policy and deadlines.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, good IT literacy, and the ability to work with limited supervision while prioritising work to meet weekly and monthly targets.

Qualifications

• Educated to A level standard or equivalent with GCSE Maths and English at C/4 or better.
• AAT Foundation Certificate Level 2 or NVQ Level 3 or actively studying AAT Level 2.

Responsibilities

• Match invoices to purchase orders where automatic matching has failed.
• Scan and register invoices, process invoices, credit notes and payment requests.
• Review invoices for accurate coding, authorisation, VAT treatment and arithmetic accuracy prior to payment.
• Provide day-to-day supervision to Accounts Payable Clerks and support the Financial Services Manager.
