Qualifications

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Accounts Assistant to join us on a 12-month FTC. This role is ideal for someone eager to advance their finance career within a dynamic, growing consultancy and professional services company.

The successful candidate will seek to develop their finance expertise at an intermediate level, building on prior education and experience. The role is transactional and vital to the smooth operation of our finance function. The candidate must be highly organized, efficient, accurate, and capable of managing multiple processes. The main responsibilities include providing financial support to the Financial Accountant and CFO.

Requirements

  • Updating management spreadsheets and managing invoicing processes
  • Filing invoices, correspondence, and general documentation
  • Addressing supplier queries and liaising with staff to resolve issues
  • Supporting the Financial Accountant and Head of Finance with ad-hoc tasks
  • Posting bank transaction journals
  • Performing intercompany reconciliations
  • Completing statutory returns such as VAT, PAYE, and IR35 reporting
  • Assisting with cash flow forecasting
  • Calculating PAYE settlements and P11D(b)
  • Preparing corporation tax returns
  • Supporting IR35 reporting
  • Performing additional management requests as needed
  • Preparing for annual audits, ensuring completeness and readiness for external auditors
  • Recording, filing, and reporting all financial transactions accurately
  • Managing nominal ledger entries, journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Reconciling monthly billing, purchase ledger, and lease records
  • Completing bank reconciliations
  • Maintaining data for Sage, Payroll, VAT systems
  • Performing monthly balance sheet and control account reconciliations
  • Updating fixed assets and depreciation records

This role requires or is willing to undergo Security Clearance. Candidates will need to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard check, with details available on the government website. If unable to meet these criteria, employment may be delayed or rejected. Further details will be discussed during the interview process.
