What you'll need to succeed

Our Local government client is seeking an experienced Interim Close Down Accountant to assist with the closure of accounts for the 2024/25 financial year. This role is crucial for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in line with IFRS16 legislation. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the account close down process
• Prepare and submit statutory returns
• Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Provide training and support to senior managers

Requirements:

• Previous experience of closure/preparation of accounts within local governments
• Understanding and experience with IFRS16 legislation
• CIPFA/CIMA qualification preferred
• Experience working alongside the audit process for account preparation

Additional Information:

• Contract duration: 6 months
