Job summary

North Devon Homes in Barnstaple is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Finance Team. You will deliver accurate management and financial reporting, support budgeting and governance, and provide senior accounting input across groups.

You will be CIMA/ACCA/ACA or equivalent, with advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems. The role may include line management and deputising for the Financial Controller when required.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel skills and experience with computerised finance or accounting systems.
• Ability to analyse, interpret and manipulate large volumes of financial data.
• Strong attention to detail and logical, methodical approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain financial information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, financial reports and reconciliations.
• Support year-end statutory accounts, working papers and external audit.
• Assist budget holders with interpretation of performance, forecasts and decision-making.
• Contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting and medium-term financial planning.
• Maintain balance sheet controls, fixed assets, cashflow and regulatory reporting.
