Job summary

Reed in Suffolk is seeking a Senior Accountant for their outsourcing team to deliver accounting and taxation services for a diverse client portfolio. You will manage your own client base, provide strategic financial advice, and work with modern cloud-based systems to enhance service delivery.

The role offers exposure to a varied client mix, mentoring opportunities, and a collaboration-focused culture within an independent practice. Training is available in technical areas as needed.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualification, or be qualified by experience.
• Experience preparing management accounts, VAT returns, statutory accounts and tax returns.
• Strong knowledge of cloud accounting software (Xero, IRIS, Dext).
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing management accounts and tailored financial reports for clients.
• Producing year-end statutory accounts and supporting documentation.
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, including liaising with HMRC.
• Maintaining and reviewing bookkeeping records using cloud accounting software.
• Preparing corporation tax and personal tax computations and returns.
• Building strong client relationships as the main point of contact.
• Mentoring junior team members.
