Job summary

Reed in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage your own portfolio of clients in a modern, forward-thinking practice in Suffolk. You’ll handle management accounts, statutory accounts, VAT and corporation tax, using cloud accounting tech and advisory skills to deliver real value.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT qualification or qualified by experience
• Experience in a UK accountancy practice environment
• Experience preparing management accounts, statutory accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax
• Excellent knowledge of cloud accounting systems (Xero, Iris, Dext)
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to manage client relationships and provide practical commercial advice
• Experience mentoring junior team members

Responsibilities

• Preparing management accounts and bespoke client reporting
• Producing year-end statutory accounts and supporting working papers
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, including liaising with HMRC
• Processing and reviewing bookkeeping using cloud-based accounting software
• Preparing and reviewing corporation and personal tax computations and returns
• Building strong client relationships, acting as trusted adviser
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional support and services
• Mentoring and supporting junior accountants
