Job summary

Reed is partnering with a growing practice in Suffolk to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant. You will manage your own portfolio, prepare management accounts, year-end statutory accounts, VAT and corporation tax returns, and mentor junior team members.

The role focuses on client interaction, cloud accounting tech, advisory work and building long-term relationships within a supportive, modern firm culture.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA or AAT qualification (or qualified by experience).
• Experience in UK accountancy practice environment.
• Experience preparing management accounts, statutory accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax returns.
• Excellent knowledge of cloud accounting systems with proven experience using Xero, Iris and Dext (essential).
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• The confidence to manage client relationships and provide practical commercial advice.
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Preparing management accounts and bespoke client reporting.
• Producing year-end statutory accounts and supporting working papers.
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, including liaising with HMRC where required.
• Processing and reviewing bookkeeping using cloud-based accounting software.
• Preparing and reviewing corporation and personal tax computations and returns.
• Building strong client relationships, acting as trusted adviser, key point of contact.
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional support and services to clients.
• Mentoring and supporting junior accountants within the team.
