Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Senior Accountant in Gillingham to manage a small client portfolio, delivering year-end accounts and statutory returns in a professional services firm.

The ideal candidate is ACCA/ACA qualified (or nearing), with strong knowledge of accounting standards, Excel and accounting software proficiency, and experience in financial statements and month‑end processes; you will review junior work and liaise with clients.

Qualifications

• ACCA/ACA qualification (or nearing completion) required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Experience with year-end accounts and tax compliance.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel.
• Excellent communication and ability to liaise with clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end statutory accounts for various entities.
• Prepare and review corporation tax returns and self-assessment.
• Manage portfolio of clients and build strong relationships.
• Review bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts by juniors.
• Liaise with clients to gather information and meet deadlines.
• Support workflow planning and process improvement.
