Job summary

Michael Page International Recruitment Limited is assisting a well established accountancy practice near Guildford in recruiting an Accounts Senior to manage a portfolio of accounts and tax clients. The role involves preparing financial statements, supporting tax compliance, and guiding junior staff within a hybrid working environment.

Ideal candidates will hold ACA or ACCA, have 2–5 years post qualified experience, and bring strong knowledge of accounting software and client relationship

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in accounting (ACA, ACCA)
• 2-5 years post-qualification experience
• From a small-medium sized accountancy practice background
• Strong knowledge of accounting software and financial reporting standards
• Experience in preparing accounts and managing client relationships
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines effectively

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and statutory accounts for clients.
• Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring deadlines are met and queries are resolved.
• Support tax team with basic tax compliance.
• Support clients with bookkeeping and VAT returns as needed.
• Monitor and review the work of junior team members, offering guidance and support.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their main point of contact for financial queries.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations.
