Job summary

eps.recruitment is seeking a Senior Accountant for a well-established practice in Milton Keynes. You will own a varied portfolio, handling accounts and tax from start to finish while building strong owner-managed business relationships.

You’ll work across a mixed client base with autonomy over how you manage your workload, aiming for progression within a supportive firm environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA or strong QBE with solid UK practice experience.
• Confident preparing accounts and tax to completion.
• Good working knowledge across accounts, tax and VAT.

Responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Handle corporation tax, personal tax and VAT compliance.
• Act as day-to-day client contact and resolve queries.
• Review work by junior colleagues and support their development.
• Spot opportunities to add value and improve processes.
• Manage workload to meet deadlines and budgets.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
• Handling corporation tax, personal tax and VAT compliance
• Acting as a day-to-day contact for your clients and resolving queries
• Reviewing work prepared by junior colleagues and supporting their development
• Spotting opportunities to add value and improve processes
• Managing your workload to deadlines and budgets

What you'll bring

• ACA/ACCA qualified (or strong QBE) with solid UK practice experience
• Confident preparing accounts and tax to completion
• Good working knowledge across accounts, tax and VAT
• Strong communication and a client-first approach
• Confident on cloud software — Xero, QuickBooks or Sage

• £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience, plus 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, a company pension and a good benefits scheme, in a supportive practice with real scope to progress.
