Qualifications

  • 2 years' experience working within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • Experience preparing accounts for a variety of clients.
  • Good knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills.
  • AAT, ACCA or ACA qualification, or be qualified by experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare year-end accounts for a range of clients (limited companies, sole traders, partnerships).
  • Prepare management accounts and financial information.
  • Support clients with tax compliance and general accounting matters.
  • Prepare VAT returns and other financial submissions.
  • Manage client deadlines and ensure timely delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Provide accounting advice and identify value-adding opportunities.
  • Review work and support junior teammates.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality client service.

Senior Accountant - North West London Up to £40k per annum

Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with a well-established accountancy practice located in the Harrow area, that is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Accountant to join its growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious practice professional looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and client-focused environment. You will work closely with a varied portfolio of clients, providing a broad range of accounting and advisory services while developing strong client relationships.

The Role

As Senior Accountant, you will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients and delivering high-quality accounting services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing year-end accounts for a range of clients, including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
  • Preparing management accounts and financial information.
  • Supporting clients with tax compliance and general accounting matters.
  • Preparing VAT returns and other relevant financial submissions.
  • Managing client deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
  • Providing accounting advice and identifying opportunities to add value to clients.
  • Reviewing work and supporting junior members of the team.
  • Working closely with colleagues across the practice to deliver a high standard of client service.

You are required to be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.

The Person

We are looking for an experienced accountant who is confident working within an accountancy practice and enjoys developing strong relationships with clients.

You will ideally have:

  • 2 years' experience working within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge.
  • Experience preparing accounts for a variety of clients.
  • Good knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
