Responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory accounts for a range of clients, including owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
• Prepare management accounts and corporation tax computations.
• Assist with the management of a varied client portfolio, maintaining high service standards.
• Act as a point of contact for clients, responding to queries and providing accounting advice.
• Review work prepared by junior colleagues and provide guidance as needed.
• Monitor deadlines and ensure accuracy of assignments.

Key responsibilities of the Assistant Accounts Manager will include:

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a range of clients, including owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
• Preparing management accounts and corporation tax computations.
• Assisting with the management of a varied client portfolio, ensuring a high standard of service.
• Acting as a point of contact for clients, responding to queries and providing practical accounting advice.
• Reviewing work prepared by junior colleagues and providing guidance where required.
• Monitoring deadlines and ensuring assignments are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Supporting Managers and Partners with client assignments and technical matters.

The successful Assistant Accounts Manager will have:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• ACA or ACCA qualification, or be actively studying towards a professional qualification.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and corporation tax.
• Experience preparing or reviewing accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to liaise directly with clients.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• A proactive, professional approach and strong attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
