Job summary

Arthur Recruitment partners with a newly established specialty insurance business to recruit a Senior Accountant. You’ll join an international finance team and help build the function from the ground up, working with colleagues in the UK and US.

The role covers financial reporting, planning and forecasting, management information and finance systems, with exposure to US GAAP and statutory reporting; the ideal candidate is a Chartered Accountant with about 3 years PQE who enjoys process

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with ~3 years post-qualification experience.
• Strong technical accounting background in the Insurance market.
• Experience with US GAAP, statutory reporting and month-end processes.
• Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and external partners.
• Interest in improving processes, systems and ways of working.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting, planning and forecasting activities.
• Provide management information and support finance systems initiatives.
• Collaborate with UK and US teams and senior leadership to shape the finance function.
• Identify process improvements and drive efficiency across the function.

Job description

I've partnered with a newly established specialty insurance business, backed by an experienced leadership team who hold exceptional industry reputations, on the search for a Senior Accountant to join their growing finance function.

As part of the growing international finance team, you’ll have the opportunity to help build the function from the ground up working closely with colleagues in both the UK and US. It’s a varied role in a fast-moving environment, ideal for an accountant who wants to understand the bigger picture, make a real impact and be part of building something from the start.

This is a broad, high-impact role for someone who wants to do more than traditional accounting. You’ll have exposure across financial reporting, planning and forecasting, management information and finance systems, while working closely with senior leadership and helping shape the finance function as the business scales.

You’ll be someone who:

• A qualified Chartered Accountant with c3 years PQE
• Has a strong technical accounting background working within the Insurance market
• Enjoys analysing numbers and turning them into meaningful business insight
• Is confident working across US GAAP, statutory reporting and month-end processes
• Likes improving processes, systems and ways of working rather than simply maintaining them
• Is comfortable working with senior stakeholders and external partners

Salary on offer is up to £80k + bonus, benefits and a hybrid working.
