Job summary

An experienced Financial Accountant is sought by a leading Insurance business to join their Finance team. The role offers exposure to international entities, broad financial reporting, and opportunities to drive process improvements.

You will own month-end entries, review results, assist with statutory accounts and tax returns, and support audits while collaborating with underwriting, claims and actuarial teams. Hybrid working is available and the salary is up to £85k with a comprehensive bonus.

Qualifications

• ACA / ACCA qualified, or equivalent with 5+ years’ relevant experience.
• Experience in an accounting role within insurance
• Reinsurance Accounting experience would be highly desirable
• Strong Excel experience and an eye for digital automation
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Fantastic communication skills both written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Ownership of month-end accounting entries relating to inbound underwriting transactions, covering areas such as earned premium recognition, claims movements and fronting activity.
• Analyse monthly financial results for several entities, reviewing both individual company performance and consolidated group reporting and prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Contribute to the year-end reporting cycle through the production of statutory accounts and supporting schedules.
• Prepare indirect and direct tax returns, including corporate tax and insurance premium tax, across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors where required.
• Identify opportunities to streamline, standardise and digitise finance processes.
• Build strong relationships with underwriting, claims, actuarial, tax and wider business functions.

Salary on offer is up to £85k + comprehensive bonus and hybrid working.
