Recruitment Helpline Ltd in Croydon is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant/Accounts Reviewer for a part-time, self-employed role. You will review accounts prep work by junior staff and ensure compliance with UK standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of statutory accounts preparation and UK Tax and cloud accounting software.
• Experience reviewing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
• Good understanding of UK accounting standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication.
• ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred, although qualified by experience candidates will also be considered.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in an office-based environment.
• Ability to use various software such as Quickbooks, Xero, Sage
• Proficient in Excel
• Must be self employed

Responsibilities

• Reviewing Accounts: Check limited company accounts, sole trader accounts, partnership accounts, VAT returns & CIS returns.
• Tax Compliance: Review corporate and personal tax computations.
• Quality Control: Spot errors, fix discrepancies, make corrections and ensure work meets UK accounting standards
• Supporting Staff: Offer brief guidance and feedback to junior accountants and bookkeepers.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy and quality across client work.
• Input data into software for Self-assessment tax returns
