Trevor James Recruitment is working with a respected independent accountancy practice in Coventry seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join the expanding team. This role focuses on technical accountancy work, reviewing colleagues’ work, mentoring juniors and ensuring high quality service for clients.

You'll handle a varied portfolio, from small limited companies to larger groups, and work with management to uphold standards while developing your career within a supportive firm.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification is essential.
• Experience reviewing the work of other team members.
• Strong knowledge of statutory accounts, Corporation Tax and Personal Tax.
• Experience with medium-sized businesses and group accounts.
• Excellent communication with colleagues and clients.
• Proactive approach with high attention to detail.
• Confidence to take ownership of technically challenging work.

Responsibilities

• Review statutory accounts and management accounts.
• Review Corporation Tax, Self Assessment and Partnership Tax returns.
• Prepare and review tax planning calculations including dividends and interest.
• Build relationships with a diverse client portfolio.
• Identify opportunities to provide additional value to clients.
• Coach and mentor junior team members.
• Support Team Manager with technical guidance and staff development.
• Resolve client and internal technical queries.

I'm currently working with a highly respected and growing independent accountancy practice in Coventry that's looking to appoint an experienced Senior Accountant to join their expanding team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of practice but is looking to move away from spending every day producing accounts. Instead, you'll play a key role reviewing work, supporting junior staff and ensuring clients receive the highest quality service
