Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Clinical Coding Specialist to join the centralised coding team across two sites. You will code across all specialties, advise on data recording practices, mentor junior coders and collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in ACC coding and NHS clinical coding standards.
• Ability to QA data quality and ensure compliance with national coding requirements.
• Ability to train and mentor less experienced coders.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with the Clinical Coding Delivery Team Manager to support coding delivery and data quality.
• Explain complex coding questions to clinicians and non-clinical staff while ensuring national standards.
• Analyse and abstract diagnostic and procedural information from patient records.
• Translate information using ICD-10 and OPCS and enter coding into the Trust's PAS.
• Mentor junior coders and engage with clinicians to validate encoded data.
