Job summary

DEEP Manufacturing, based in Avonmouth (Bristol), seeks an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join the production team. You will set up and run a 5-axis CNC machining centre, interpret drawings and ensure tight tolerances are achieved with Heidenhain controls.

Key tasks include tool setting, offsets, editing simple programmes, and inspection using precision instruments. The role supports continuous improvement and safe, efficient production in a technically focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with 5-axis CNC machining and ability to set up milling machines.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately.
• Proficient use of precision measuring equipment and tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machining centres.
• Work with Heidenhain controls and probing systems.
• Set tools, fixtures, offsets and machine parameters.
• Make minor CNC programme edits when required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to manufacture parts.
• Inspect components during machining using micrometers, verniers and gauges.
• Maintain quality, reliability and efficiency of processes.
• Complete production and machine setup documentation.
• Work safely to meet production schedules.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Keep a clean, organized and safe workspace.
• Process daily work orders for maintenance tasks.
