Job summary

City of Portsmouth College is seeking a 3rd Line Support Engineer to join a team delivering high-quality IT support across multiple campuses in Portsmouth. The role will act as senior support for 2nd line engineers, troubleshoot complex incidents and provide expertise for systems and infrastructure.

The successful candidate will work on VMware/AD environments, participate in escalation processes, and contribute to ongoing knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• 3rd line IT support experience
• Strong troubleshooting and incident resolution skills
• Ability to act as escalation point for complex issues

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality IT support to stakeholders
• Represent IT in meetings and conferences when required
• Escalate and manage issues with third parties
• Update and maintain ticketing system logs and progress
• Provide desktop support, hardware repairs and software installs as needed
• Train others and keep knowledge up to date
• Maintain strong customer focus at all times
• Support virtual infrastructure and server patch management
