Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution in Northampton is seeking an experienced 11kV Network Planner to lead design activities, mentor colleagues and deliver complex connections for domestic and industrial customers.

You will hold Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 (or equivalent) and bring strong 11kV network knowledge, with a UK driving licence and SAP experience. This hybrid role combines office and home working after training.

Qualifications

• Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 (or equivalent electrical qualification).
• Strong knowledge of 11kV networks and distribution design.
• Experience designing connections, reinforcement or alterations in a DNO/ICP environment.
• Able to interpret technical information and apply engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and assess complex 11kV network connection schemes.
• Carry out load flow and fault level assessments.
• Produce feasibility studies, budgets and quotes for customer projects.
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to planners.
• Engage with customers and stakeholders in project delivery.
• Coordinate with engineers and operations on high voltage projects.
• Ensure designs comply with standards and safety requirements.
