St. Augustine’s Church of England Primary School in West Sussex is seeking a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) on a part‑time basis (0.6 FTE).

The successful candidate will have QTS and a mandatory SENCO qualification (NPQ for SENCOs or predecessor) and a track record in primary education with SEND support. You will lead provision, coordinate EHCP processes, and work with families and external services to ensure inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS and SENCO qualification or be willing to achieve within 3 years.
• Primary teaching experience with SEND and evidence of professional development.
• Knowledge of SEND Code of Practice and Equality Act duties.
• Coordinate SEND records, provision mapping and EHCP processes; evaluate provision and staff development.

Responsabilités

• Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day coordination of provision.
• Support high-quality adaptive teaching and OAIP provision.
• Oversee the graduated approach and assess–plan–do–review cycles.
• Coordinate EHCP processes and annual reviews with families and specialist services.
