Job summary

Break Through School is seeking a SENDCO to lead and develop SEND provision across the school, working with the Principal, SLT, families and external professionals to ensure learners receive the support they need to succeed.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, reflective, and committed to improving outcomes for learners with SEMH and SEND needs, with opportunities for ongoing CPD and career progression.

Qualifications

• Understanding of SEND and the needs of learners within specialist provision.
• Highly organised and able to manage statutory processes effectively.
• Professional and sensitive communication with families, staff, learners, and external agencies.
• Confident in supporting and advising colleagues.
• High expectations for learners and commitment to improving outcomes.
• Ability to work calmly and solution-focused in a busy school environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop SEND provision across Break Through School.
• Collaborate with the Principal, SLT, staff, families, local authorities and external professionals to secure needed support.
• Ensure learners receive the required adaptations and provision to achieve positive outcomes.
• Support staff and strengthen SEND provision across the school.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and reflective colleague to take a key role in leading and developing SEND provision across the school. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal, senior leadership team, staff, families, local authorities, and external professionals to ensure that all learners receive the support, adaptations, and provision they need to achieve positive outcomes.

At Break Through School we support learners with a range of additional needs, including social, emotional and mental health needs, specific learning difficulties, and other complex barriers to learning. We are looking for someone who understands the importance of strong relationships, high expectations, and personalised support in helping learners to thrive.

This role will be central to strengthening provision, supporting staff, and ensuring that learners’ needs are met consistently and effectively.
