Job summary

Break Through School is seeking a SENDCO to lead and develop SEND provision across the school, working closely with the Principal, senior leadership team, staff, families, local authorities and external professionals to ensure learners receive the support they need.

This role will strengthen provision, support staff, and ensure learners' needs are met consistently and effectively, with a focus on strong relationships, high expectations and personalised support.

Qualifications

  • Experience with SEND and learners in specialist provision.
  • Ability to manage statutory processes effectively.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with families, staff, learners, and external agencies.
  • Committed to continuous improvement in SEND provision.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop SEND provision across the school.
  • Collaborate with the Principal, SLT, staff, families, and external professionals to ensure learners receive tailored support.
  • Support staff and ensure learners' needs are met consistently and effectively.
  • Strengthen provision and advise colleagues to improve outcomes.

Job description

At Break Through School, we’re not just an alternative provision, we’re a lifeline for young people with SEMH and SEND needs who deserve a fresh start and a brighter future. We’re looking for a SENDCO to support our learners journey.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and reflective colleague to take a key role in leading and developing SEND provision across the school. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal, senior leadership team, staff, families, local authorities, and external professionals to ensure that all learners receive the support, adaptations, and provision they need to achieve positive outcomes.

At Break Through School we support learners with a range of additional needs, including social, emotional and mental health needs, specific learning difficulties, and other complex barriers to learning. We are looking for someone who understands the importance of strong relationships, high expectations, and personalised support in helping learners to thrive.

This role will be central to strengthening provision, supporting staff, and ensuring that learners’ needs are met consistently and effectively.
