Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Milton Keynes to appoint a SENDCO who will lead SEND provision and support pupils with additional needs. The role focuses on coordinating provision, collaborating with staff and external agencies, and driving inclusive learning strategies.

The ideal candidate will hold UK QTS with SEND or inclusion experience, and either possess or be willing to work towards the NASENCO qualification.

Qualifications

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status with SEND or inclusion experience.
  • NASENCO qualification or willingness to work towards it is essential.
  • Strong understanding of SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school.
  • Identify pupils with additional needs and plan support accordingly.
  • Oversee EHCPs, support plans and pupil progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, families and external agencies.
  • Support staff with inclusive teaching strategies and SEND best practice.
  • Monitor impact of interventions and ensure effective provision.
  • Ensure SEND processes align with SEND Code of Practice.
  • Support safeguarding, inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
  • Assist with assessments, transitions and applications for extra support.
  • Contribute to the school's wider inclusion strategy.

SENDCO - Mainstream Primary School | Milton Keynes Start Date: ASAP | 3 Days Per Week | Long-Term & Potential Permanent Opportunity

Are you an experienced and passionate education professional with a strong commitment to supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities? Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Milton Keynes that is seeking a dedicated SENDCO to join their team as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in leading SEND provision within a supportive school environment committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.

We are looking for an organised, compassionate and proactive SENDCO who can coordinate effective SEND provision, support staff and work closely with families and external professionals to achieve positive outcomes for pupils.

What you'll be doing:
  • Leading and coordinating SEND provision across the school
  • Identifying pupils with additional needs and ensuring appropriate support is in place
  • Overseeing and reviewing EHCPs, support plans and pupil progress
  • Working closely with teachers, support staff, parents and external agencies
  • Supporting staff with inclusive teaching strategies and SEND best practice
  • Monitoring the impact of interventions and ensuring effective provision
  • Ensuring SEND processes are in line with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Supporting safeguarding, inclusion and pupil wellbeing across the school
  • Supporting assessments, transitions and applications for additional support where required
  • Contributing to the school's wider inclusion strategy
You’ll be a great fit if you:
  • Hold UK QTS and have experience working within SEND or inclusion
  • Hold the NASENCO qualification or be willing to work towards it
  • Have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes
  • Have excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills
  • Can build positive relationships with pupils, families, staff and external professionals
  • Are passionate about creating inclusive learning environments
  • Are calm, empathetic and solution-focused
  • Can work effectively as part of a wider school leadership team
