Are you a passionate, resilient, and visionary SEND Leader?

We are seeking a committed and inspirational SENDCo to join our team and act as a champion for all children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Following the promotion of our successful SENDCo to Deputy Headteacher, we are looking for a qualified practitioner to build upon our strong foundations and lead our inclusive provision into its next chapter.

About Our School

We are a thriving, popular 3-Form Entry (3FE) primary school with inclusion at the very heart of everything we do.

We are immensely proud to hold the Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) Flagship Status, recognising our ongoing dedication to creating an environment where every child flourishes.

Our school is defined by its warm, professional, and dedicated staff team. We work hard to cultivate a community where parents feel genuinely welcomed, supported, and at home. When you step through our doors, you enter a vibrant, encouraging, and collaborative environment built on high standards and deep empathy.

About the Role

This is a key strategic role with no class teaching commitment, giving you the dedicated time and freedom needed to lead, innovate, and make a profound difference across the school. As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will play a central role in driving school improvement and raising standards for all learners.

Key Responsibilities & Opportunities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Drive the strategic direction of SEND provision as an active member of the SLT.
  • Staff Development & Training: Lead, motivate, and inspire colleagues through impactful training and day-to-day mentoring.
  • Collaboration & Advocacy: Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to ensure every child’s needs are met.
  • Smooth Transition: Benefit from full support and handover from our outgoing SENDCo (now Deputy Headteacher), ensuring a seamless start.
About You

We are looking for an experienced, qualified SENDCo who is eager to lead by example and inspire those around them. Mindset is key to this role—we want someone who takes people with them on the journey through encouragement, curiosity, and empathy.

Our ideal candidate is:
  • An Experienced Leader: Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO / NPQ SENCO) with a proven track record of successful practice.
  • An Inquisitive & Reflective Practitioner: Curious, adaptable, and constantly looking for ways to refine and improve provision and dedicated to their role and the school.
  • Organised & Resilient: Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced 3FE environment while maintaining exceptional organisational skills.
  • A People-First Communicator: Empathetic, supportive, and skilled at motivating teams and reassuring parents.
What We Offer
  • Dedicated Transition Support: Work alongside our new Deputy Headteacher (current SENDCo) to ensure a fully supported, comprehensive induction.
  • Flexibility: We offer flexible working days to support your work-life balance.
  • Dedicated Time: Zero class teaching commitments, enabling you to focus entirely on your leadership role.
  • A Supportive Community: A warm, welcoming staff team, an appreciative parent body, and a highly committed governing body.
  • Professional Growth: Opportunities for ongoing continuous professional development within a recognised IQM Flagship setting.

This school is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all our children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Candidates should note that any offer of employment made will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment clearances to include two references and Enhanced Disclosure Procedures, a Children’s Barred List check, proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 and other pre-employment checks where applicable.
