Job summary

Oak Tree Primary School in Cheadle Hulme is seeking an inspirational SENDCo to join the Senior Leadership Team. This 0.6 FTE role has no class teaching, offering you time to lead, develop provision for pupils with SEND, and drive school improvement.

The successful candidate will hold NASENCO or NPQ SENCO, work with families and external agencies, and contribute to inclusive practice within our 3FE setting, with flexible days and strong support from a stable leadership team.

Qualifications

• Qualified SENDCo with NASENCO / NPQ SENCO or equivalent.
• Proven experience leading SEND provision and raising standards.
• Strong collaboration with SLT, families, and external agencies.

Responsibilities

About the Role

This is a key strategic role with no class teaching commitment, giving you the dedicated time and freedom needed to lead, innovate, and make a profound difference across the school. As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you will play a central role in driving school improvement and raising standards for all learners.

Key Responsibilities & Opportunities

• Strategic Leadership: Drive the strategic direction of SEND provision as an active member of the SLT.
• Staff Development & Training: Lead, motivate, and inspire colleagues through impactful training and day-to-day mentoring.
• Collaboration & Advocacy: Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to ensure every child’s needs are met.
• Smooth Transition: Benefit from full support and handover from our outgoing SENDCo (now Deputy Headteacher), ensuring a seamless start.

About You

We are looking for an experienced, qualified SENDCo who is eager to lead by example and inspire those around them. Mindset is key to this rolewe want someone who takes people with them on the journey through encouragement, curiosity, and empathy.
