Job summary

FIND | Creating Futures is seeking an experienced SENDCo for a specialist secondary school to lead the SEND provision and oversee EHCPs for pupils with complex needs. The role involves coordinating interventions and developing staff to improve outcomes.

You will work closely with families and external agencies, ensuring quality assurance and contributing to the strategic development of SEND provision within the school.

Qualifications

  • QTS or QTLS required.
  • Experience leading SEND provision.
  • Strong knowledge of EHCPs and SEND Code of Practice.
  • Experience coordinating interventions and supporting families.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the school's SEND provision and strategic development.
  • Oversee EHCP reviews and LAC/PEP processes.
  • Coordinate targeted interventions and support for learners.
  • Develop and mentor SEND staff to raise outcomes.
  • Collaborate with families and external agencies to secure outcomes.
  • Drive quality assurance across SEND provision.

Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced SENDCo to join their specialist secondary school and make a real difference to young people’s lives.

The school supports pupils with EHCPs, including SEMH, SEND, ASD and ADHD. Many pupils have experienced difficulties in mainstream education, making this a fantastic opportunity for a SEND professional who is passionate about inclusion and improving outcomes.

You’ll lead the school’s SEND provision, oversee EHCP reviews and LAC/PEPs, coordinate interventions, support and develop staff, and work closely with families and external agencies. You’ll also play a key role in quality assurance and the strategic development of SEND provision.

  • QTS or QTLS
  • Strong SEND leadership experience
  • Excellent knowledge of EHCPs and the SEND Code of Practice
  • Experience leading staff and SEND provision
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with complex needs
