Job summary

BrightTeach SEND Tutors is seeking a SEND Tutor to reignite a love of learning. You will provide in-person tuition to children and young people with SEND, with some online sessions, primarily face-to-face.

The role requires QTS or significant classroom experience, and a commitment to safeguarding and student welfare. Flexible, with part-time or full-time options, it offers rewarding, inclusive education work.

Qualifications

• QTS or significant classroom experience
• Significant SEND experience in primary/secondary/college
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to obtain
• Safeguarding training knowledge and creating a safe learning environment
• Excellent subject knowledge and written/communication skills
• Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person tuition to children and young people with SEND (some online; majority face-to-face)
• Plan, prepare and teach bespoke, student-centred lessons to ensure engagement and progress
• Establish SMART targets and review progress with learners
• Design interventions supporting emotional and academic engagement
• Safeguard the welfare of students and follow safeguarding policy
• Report attendance, progress and behaviour after each session
• Carry out risk assessments of environments and activities for safety
• Attend multi-agency meetings and CPD opportunities
