A leading educational support provider in the UK seeks a passionate 1:1 SEND Tutor for a Year 7 learner in Mistley Heath. The ideal candidate will provide tailored tuition focusing on basic math and English, while fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. You will conduct assessments to establish the pupil's learning levels and build rapport to encourage their participation. This role requires a tailored approach to meet specific educational needs, including experience with ASD and high anxiety. Flexible hours are available.
1 : 1 SEND Tutor required for a Y7 learner in Manningtree, Essex. Desired outcomes :
He requires a bespoke tuition package, to focus on basic maths and English and enabling participation and progression.
The tutor will be required to arrange baseline assessments, in order to establish his learning levels, as he has not received any academic tuition for some time.
A tutor with a low demand approach, focusing learning material on his needs and interests and building a relationship with him.
He requires a provision for 1 day initially for up to 2 hours.
The pupil lives at home with his parents and younger sister. They are not known to social services.
The provision should take place in the home or online. The parent / carer is aware and can be present for tuition in the home.
This pupil is not on roll with a school.
He has previously been at age related expectations, however he has not been assessing full time education since 2021 so would have likely fallen behind. EHCP and agreed EOTIS in February 2024. He has not been receiving any academic tuition since then, just therapeutic.
The pupil has hearing loss and is reliant on lip reading. He has speech and language difficulties and his speech can be nasally. The pupil presents with high levels of anxiety. He struggles to form relationships with his peers and can be quite isolated. He finds it hard to build relationships and needs to feel safe in order to engage with any professionals.
The pupil has ASD, ADHD, anxiety and suffers with visible tics when he is anxious.
The pupil can become dysregulated and anxious when under demand.
A low demand approach is best for him that focuses on his interests.
It is important that the tutor shares the same interests as the learner otherwise he feels he cannot make a connection with them.
He enjoys gaming and coding.
