Job summary

TeacherActive is partnering with the local authority to recruit a SEND Tutor to support young people with SEMH needs in Stratford-upon-Avon. This long-term, full-time role focuses on delivering tailored 1:1 tuition in core subjects and building positive relationships with students who require personalised education.

Applicants with experience in alternative provision or 1:1 tuition are welcomed; QTS not required.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or working in an alternative provision setting.
• Experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
• Strong knowledge of core subjects.
• Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
• Patient, resilient and adaptable approach.
• Commitment to student progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 tuition in core subjects.
• Support students to progress through learning goals.
• Adapt lessons to meet individual needs and SEMH considerations.
• Collaborate with schools and local authorities to support attendance and engagement.
