Job summary

Remedy Education in Derbyshire is seeking experienced Core Subject SEN Tutors to provide one-to-one tuition to students with Special Educational Needs, helping them build confidence and re-engage with learning.

Tuition covers English, Maths and Science, with DBS via Update Service or willingness to obtain one. QTS or tutoring experience is desirable, enabling tailored lessons and progress monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised one-to-one lessons tailored to each student's needs.
• Deliver tuition in core subjects: English, Maths and Science.
• Adapt teaching to support students with SEN and barriers to learning.
• Build positive relationships that promote confidence, engagement and love of learning.
• Monitor progress and adapt lesson plans to maximise outcomes.
• Complete weekly reports and provide regular feedback on attendance, engagement and progress.
• Collaborate with families, schools, local authorities and Remedy Tutors team to support students.
• Maintain safeguarding and professionalism at all times.

Job description

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teacher or Tutor looking for flexible and rewarding work? We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Core Subject SEN Tutors to join our team in Derbyshire.

You’ll be providing one-to-one tuition to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to build confidence, re-engage with learning and achieve positive educational outcomes. Students may have a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, etc.

Role Requirements

• Pay: 25- 35 per hour
• Location: Derbyshire
• Subjects: Core Subjects
• DBS: An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant tutoring experience is desirable.

The Role

• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised one-to-one lessons tailored to each student's individual needs and learning style.
• Deliver tuition in core subjects, including English, Maths and Science.
• Adapt teaching strategies to support students with a range of SEN and barriers to learning.
• Build positive relationships that promote confidence, engagement and a love of learning.
• Monitor and assess progress, adapting lesson plans where appropriate to maximise outcomes.
• Complete weekly reports and provide regular feedback on attendance, engagement and progress.
• Work collaboratively with families, schools, local authorities and the Remedy Tutors team to ensure students receive the best possible support.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and professionalism at all times.
