Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a SEND school in Selly Oak, Birmingham, to place a SEND Tutor who can support a pupil who cannot access class-based learning.

You will plan, prep and deliver material to the student, regularly creating weekly reports on learning and behaviour, while developing and applying intensive interactions and applied learning strategies in a residential setting.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and at least 6 months SEND experience.
• Experience supporting pupils with mild to complex learning needs.
• Knowledge of intensive interactions and applied learning methods.
• Ability to plan, deliver and mark lessons to meet individual pupil needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prep and deliver material to the pupil.
• Monitor and report on learning and behaviour on a weekly basis.
• Deliver and assess lessons and adjust tasks to suit the pupil.
• Provide consistent support in a residential setting in line with school policies.

Teacher Active is proud to be working with a SEND school, located in Selly Oak that support children with SEND needs, which vary from mild to complex learning difficulties. They are seeking a tutor that can support a pupil that can t access class-based learning.

As a SEND Tutor you will be working in a residential setting with a student(s) that have mild to complex learning needs. You will plan, prep and deliver material to the student and provide support to their learning.

As a tutor, you will regularly create reports and monitor the students learning and behaviour on a weekly basis

They provide an abundance of experience, which can allow you to grow as a teacher while being paid at market leading rates. We have experienced and dedicated SEND Consultants choosing placements that suit your availability, preference and skills.

The right SEND Tutor will have the following:

• Qualified Teacher Status/QTS, 6 months previous SEND experience
• Experience supporting pupils with mild to complex learning needs.
• Know how to apply intensive interactions and applied learning
• Plan, deliver and mark lessons that meet the needs of the pupil.
• Adapting tasks to meet the needs of individual children
• Effective behaviour management skills
• Effective communication with members of internal staff
