Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a fantastic SEND school in Tunbridge Wells on a long-term temporary assignment, starting in September. The role involves supporting pupils with Autism (ASD) and PMLD, delivering engaging lessons and assisting with personal care where required.

The successful candidate will hold QTS, have experience with ASD/PMLD and challenging behaviour, and possess excellent classroom management and communication skills. A patient, caring approach is essential.

The school is committed to providing an inclusive, nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally through tailored learning and dedicated support.

The school is looking to appoint a SEND Teacher on a long-term temporary basis starting in September. The successful SEND Teacher will support pupils with Autism (ASD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), delivering engaging lessons while supporting personal care, managing challenging behaviour positively and creating a safe, supportive classroom environment where every child can thrive.

The successful SEND Teacher will have:

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
• Experience working with children and young people with ASD and PMLD
• Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour using positive behaviour strategies
• Confidence providing or overseeing personal care where required
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and caring approach
