Job summary

BCP Council in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole seeks two SEND Resolution Officers to manage SEND Tribunal appeals from registration to resolution, ensuring compliance with statutory duties. You will work with parents, professionals and Local Authority colleagues to advance timely, fair outcomes.

• Proven ability to manage complexity and deadlines in SEND processes.
• Resilient and calm under pressure with strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare responses, case statements, written submissions, evidence bundles and Tribunal documents.
• Review evidence from education, health and social care professionals, identifying gaps or areas requiring clarification.
• Work closely with parents, carers, young people, education settings, professional witnesses, legal representatives and colleagues.
• Look for opportunities to resolve disputes early through constructive conversations, mediation and negotiation.
• Attend and represent the Local Authority at SEND Tribunal hearings, case management hearings and Judicial ADR proceedings.
• Monitor decisions and agreed outcomes, helping to ensure required actions are implemented.
• Maintain accurate case records and monitor deadlines, progress and outcomes.
• Help identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve the quality and effectiveness of the service.
