Job summary

Qualifications

• Proven experience representing a local authority or similar organisation at SEND tribunals and mediations.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation including the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice.
• Experience managing complex SEND casework and tribunal processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to prepare robust evidence and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of SEND tribunals and mediations.
• Represent the local authority at tribunal hearings and mediation meetings.
• Prepare high-quality tribunal documentation, evidence and case statements.
• Provide specialist advice and guidance to SEND casework officers.
• Ensure compliance with the Children and Families Act 2014, SEND Code of Practice and statutory timescales.
