Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd. is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant for North Walsham Junior School to support pupils with SEND within the classroom and assist teachers in delivering tailored learning strategies.

You will work with individuals and small groups to promote engagement and progression, while focusing on social, emotional, and academic development in a collaborative setting. The role emphasises safeguarding, strong communication, and a team-based approach.

Qualifications

• Previous SEND experience is desirable.
• Experience supporting pupils with ASD/ADHD/SEMH or other SEND needs.
• Patient, caring and resilient.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.

Duties as a SEND Teaching Assistant:

• Support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities within the classroom

• Work closely with teachers, SEND staff, and parents where appropriate

Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant:
