Job summary

Step Teachers is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to work across schools in Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding areas. Roles can be full-time or part-time, with placements tailored to your availability.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management and inclusive practices.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
• Resilient, patient and empathetic approach.
• Relevant qualifications or training in education, psychology or youth work (desirable)
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with a range of special educational needs in both classroom and one-to-one settings.

• Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies.
• Help create a structured and inclusive learning environment.

• Support pupils during transitions and break times.
