Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to join primary schools in Wakefield on supply, with options for day-to-day or longer-term placements starting in September.

You will support pupils with SEND 1:1 or in small groups, work with the teacher and SENCO to implement strategies, and promote a safe, inclusive learning environment. Training and ongoing support are provided by Milk Education.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEND in a Primary School or similar educational setting.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • A patient, empathetic and adaptable approach with excellent communication skills.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education practices.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) and the Right to Work in the UK.

We’re currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join on supply in Primary Schools in and around Wakefield in on a long or short-term basis starting in September. This role is on a supply basis and could either be Day-2-Day work or a Longer-Term position depending on preference.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
