Job summary

Crawshaw Academy is seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant to work across both mainstream and Pathways, providing practical and emotional support to help students access learning. You will collaborate with teachers and SEND professionals to create safe, nurturing environments where learners feel valued and able to succeed.

Ideal candidates bring experience with children or young people and a genuine interest in SEND and SEMH.

Qualifications

Experience working with children or young people in educational, youth work, care or support settings.
Patient, calm and adaptable, especially with learners facing challenges with learning, behaviour or emotions.
Interest in SEND, SEMH and supporting students with additional needs.

Responsibilities

Work across mainstream and Pathways, adapting approach to meet individual needs.
Build strong, consistent relationships with students who may need extra support to engage with learning.
Support students who may have experienced disrupted education, helping them rebuild confidence and trust in education.
Help young people recognise their strengths and celebrate progress and achievement.
Be part of a team focused on re-engagement, confidence and progress as students move to next steps.
