Job summary

Qualifications

• Background in care, support work, healthcare, SEND education, residential care, nursing assistance, or similar.
• Experience with PEG feeding, manual handling, Makaton, BSL, or personal care is valuable.
• Commitment to helping children reach their potential and learn.
• School provides tailored education and nurturing environment for pupils with LD.
• Working across primary and secondary phases with collaborative approach.
• Must be able to support students with LD and medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with moderate to severe learning disabilities throughout the school day.
• Assisting students with communication, learning, and social development.
• Supporting the delivery of personalised learning activities.
• Using Makaton, BSL, visual timetables, and sensory approaches when appropriate.
• Providing personal care and promoting independence with daily living skills.
• Supporting pupils with medical, physical, and sensory needs.
• Assisting with manual handling procedures where required.
• Supporting students who require PEG feeding or other specialist interventions.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and families.
• Contributing to a safe, nurturing, inclusive learning environment.
